Hello!

Welcome, and thank you for joining me on my adventures :)

My name is Margaux, I'm 23, and was born and raised in the UK. I’m lucky to have been to many incredible places around the world with my family, and as I embark on more independent travels, many of them solo, I want to share my experiences with you.
However, I am also passionate about sustainability: my entire secondary and university education has been dedicated to sustainable development, and I have been committed to protecting our planet since I organised a litter pick with my school friends along the River Thames in London when I was 8. I went vegan in 2020, mainly for environmental reasons, and am more and more conscious of the decisions I make in my day to day life.
No one out there today really addresses the issue of travel and sustainability, and so I wanted to use my passion and knowledge to generate some positive change. Because I know that travel isn’t going anywhere. Planes are always going to fly, people will always move around. So, we need to focus on what benefits travel can bring, and work to minimise our impacts wherever we can.
My blog will cover all of my travels; I’ll share itineraries, my top tips, and ideas for your next adventure. It will also talk about the challenge of addressing sustainability from all corners of the world. I’ll highlight the best spots for vegan food and show you the products I use to make my trips more sustainable.
But this blog is for everyone: vegans, non-vegans, those already doing so much for our planet, those wanting to do more, and absolutely everyone in-between. We can’t do this alone, so thank you for being here and following along.
Happy exploring, and I hope we meet somewhere along the way!
Lots of love,
Margaux x

Why Margaux's Footprints?
The name of this blog was inspired by the Chief Seattle quote "Take only memories, leave only footprints". Footprints are symbolic of us moving forward and walking in uncharted territory, but they are also used to measure the environmental impact we are having on the planet. My hope is that one day, by working together, all we will ever leave on our journeys is footprints in the sand.
I'd love to chat!
